Megan Whittington
Background

Singing and songwriting are Megan's passions.  Megan has studied opera for many years and is pleased to have studied under Nina Golsband, Lynn Blaser, and for a shorter period with Patricia Kern.  While appreciative of that training, Megan's soul rests with a folk-country-blues style.  Having come across the writings of her father, J Bradley Burt, in her pre-teens, she was hooked on composing music and expressing her love of poetry through music.  She is most happy when singing original songs, harmonizing with her sister, Tara Burt, and performing for live audiences.

As a proud member and Executive Director of the Oakville Arts Council, Megan continues to enrich her life with creative people.  A devoted wife and mother of three children, she appreciates the love and support from her family and friends.

She is currently working with River 16 Recording Studio on her first album Release.

"Oh my day,
it needs spontaneity.
Take me from my day-to-day,
release me."
